Sunday's confessions

Catnipped on Sunday

Well it's been already a week since my last post and I thought I'd made the effort again (don't want to be accused of being lazy you know...).
As I was saying in my previous post there has been a while since l've written anything on this blog and that was as I've explained before for many reasons (being a lazy fat cat is not one of them silly Ozzy, who at the moment is pretending he is asleep and not watching...yes you are not fooling anyone I can see those beady eyes starring at me....)
So and as I was saying many things had happened during my 'absence'  nothing too drastic though other than the move...There are still four of us, the two hoomins and of course some new fish apparently...really can't be asked to check myself...too high up for my like as these days I don't do anything too strenuous and high other than jumping on my sofa...too much effort, especially and since homin decided to keep my food and biscuits in the corridor and not to to have them in my room like it was on the other place...something about making too much mess! Anyway at least I've got new catnip rug as you can see from the photo...which is very soft and purrfect and which rug I don't like sharing with the others and especially with the pestsquito Ozzy...

Pestsquito Ozzy snoozing....not cute
Yes 'pestsquito' is his current nickname as he tends to make some strange brrr noises instead of normal meowing and hoomins think that he sounds like a mosquito and because sometimes he can be a pest (even hoomins admit it that sometimes he is a bit too playful) he's got the new nickname pestsquito...ha ha he deserves it...Like right now he is on the catnip rug again...go away shooooo pestquito, it's my rug not yours because it's in my room and I don't want to share....what a pest he is...always appearing when you don't really want him, grrr...

Anyway I've spent too much time on Ozzy again and now it's almost dinner time so I'd stop for now and catch up again hopefully next Sunday...go away Ozzy it's not your rug...it's mine, all mine....pfft!

It's been a while

Me in deep thought...my dinner is too far away
Yes I know it has been a while while since I've posted anything here but you know how life is for us pussycats...we are always soo busy...so many things to do, you know sleeping and eating takes a lot out of you and then they are the other three cats that occasionally bother me, especially the pestquito Ozzy (as my hoomins call him these days, ha ha...quite fitting I'd say) and of course they are the hoomins as well who they need constantly looking after...So there are so many hours in a day for a pussycat to take care of everything...so I tend to neglect some things like writing and updating my blog...I'm only a pussycat after all.
So many things have happened since the last time I've posted so it is really difficult to mention everything in one go you know. First of all we have moved to a better close by location to a bigger place with a nice view of the canal and thankfully no more steps any more. So now I get my chance to move about a bit and not just to stay upstairs only...I've used to hate those stairs so much...so hard to come upstairs again..too many high steps...Why on earth hoomins like places with stairs...don't understand  them...well they are hoomins after all I guess with no common sense.
Unfortunately the other thing that has not changed though is Ozzy...he is still around...grr and he still annoys me....grrr again!
Pfft...he tries so hard to look cute for hoomins...pathetic!
Yes he is still around and he is acting like he owns the place, he annoys me, he bothers poor Faith and he tries really hard to bother Choo Choo (but of course Choo Choo doesn't get bothered by anything or anyone) and of course he gets what he wants from the hoomins as he always plays the cute and innocent with them and of course they're always falling for his old tricks...so annoying at times but again what else is to expect from a not so intelligent species like hoomins...pfft!
The only ones that he doesn't bother at the moment are the fish and that is of course because they are in tank full of water. I dare him to bother them...ha, ha, splash, a wet and not so cute Ozzy.

Anyway I've written quite a lot for now and my poor paws are tired from typing and besides is dinner time and hoomins would be bringing me my dinner any minute now...hmmm I think they are a bit late actually...pfft hoomins what are they doing on Sunday evening and not having my dinner ready?...sometimes I do despair but again what can you do...you can't get good hoomins these day, you'll have to do with what you have...
Purrs and Meows for now then!

Introductions

Hi there. My name is Ripley and along with Ozzy (who currently is growling behind me....he is hungry again I guess) we are taking over from now on the ownership of this blog.
I am Ripley, the clever one

This is Ozzy the one that hoomins  often call trouble and who is not that clever really, he likes eating and playing a lot...
Sheng Chi unfortunately passed away a few months back, very unexpectedly and her loss caused a lot of sadness to both my hoomins and myself of course along with Choo Choo too. Since we've lost Sheng Chi hoomins have brought home (or as they said it they've 'adopted') two other rescue cats.
Faith, a 12 year black and white female who has no many teeth left (just four really, poor thing) and a bit of arthritis on her front left leg which makes her limp most of the times and impossible for her to jump on high places. Faith came from a local shelter and she is a very affectionate and loveable cat who causes no trouble and who i also like very much.
Faith snoozing in her new bed...she is quite cute really...

My hoomins also adopted Ozzy (big mistake really) from the local cats protection branch, who is a 7 year old black and white male and who most of the time acts like a 1 year old kitten, instead. He is far too playful and a big pain in my fury....who thinks that anything and anybody is there for him to play with....Yes it is quite obvious I guess that I don't like him that much really but now he is a member of our family so slowly, very slowly I'm getting used to him being around (believe me it is very hard to do though ...).
Unfortunately and although Ozzy is not that clever really nevertheless he has managed to win over the hoomins and Choo Choo (not Faith who she doesn't really trust him as he runs a lot and tends occasionally to knock her over....he can be very excitable and he also tends to buzz a lot like a mosquito....this is why the hoomins call him mosquito, I guess). He sometimes behaves also like a puppy, following the hoomins all the time, being affectionate and cute with his big eyes and rather cute face (grr...) so you tend to hear quite often from the hoomins a lot of 'ooohs' and 'aaaahs', and 'how cute is he'....grrr and more grrr...such a manipulative little monster he is....
Anyway this is how things are now that Sheng Chi is not around any more and from now on and since I'm the oldest and the wiser of course I'd tell you on a regular basis, hopefully, some of the things that are happening in my house and which you might find interesting and entertaining perhaps. Oh yes Ozzy (ha, ha right if this is ever going to happen....) would perhaps take over and tell some of our stories also as it was agreed (the oldest and the youngest in our family) but very much doubt as he doesn't have the patience really to sit down and type anything...
Till next time then! Time for dinner now which hopefully will stop Ozzy for a little while from running like a maniac downstairs....poor hoomin can't get a moment of peace and quiet, he, he!

New Year's Resolutions and other humit nonsense...

Trying to show to humits that I don't need dieting...I fit purrfectly see?

Yeap it is this time of the year once again... a new year, new beginnings, blah, blah, etc, etc...all this humit nonsense that every year goes around just after catsmas....
And it's not that I care really...humits can do whatever they like and pleases them as long as it has nothing to do with my and my well established habits...especially those that involve my dinners and snacks...
You know this time of the year we have the same idea coming up again and again...especially since humits always feel guilty for eating too much over the festive season...you know when they start mentioning that horrible word that I don't want to really mention meowself...you know which one I mean...d...diet... grrr oh curses!
I mean what do they have to go through the same ritual every year? They know really that whatever they promise to do to change in the new year it's not going to work because after a couple of weeks they will fall back to their old routines and eating habits...humits are like us after all, creatures of habit...why are they wasting their time with silly resolutions and scare me too... grrr purrs & meows!
The worst thing of all is all these new year resolutions you hear and see supposedly made by kitties around the globe as well that seem to really annoy me! Really...do you think that kitties are that stupid to make like silly humits promises for change in the new year? Don't think so...kitties don't do CHANGE, when are you going to learn humits???
An here is a good example of what I mean with 10 kitty resolutions for the new year...yeah right!

1. I promise to trim down a little (not likely really...why should I bother? I'm purrfect the way I am...besides it's just fur not fat...we said that before!)

2. I'll be friendlier to strangers (I won't run away from newcomers right away but instead, I'll give them a chance to scratch my ears before disappearing under the bed...)
Really? I never disappear I stay hidden and watch...you'll never know they might have some cat food with them after all...and nobody touches me other than my humits...(I draw the line here!)

3. I'll be cuddlier to family members (I'll purr more and be more affectionate to everyone in the family, except the dog – unless he promises to stay the heck out of my litter tray!)...yeah right I'm already too cuddly...take it or leave it humits...and thank goodness we have no dog (what's a dog?)...unless the other two count as one...maybe they're 'dogz' after all, they do annoy me most of the time...

4. I'll be nicer to the birds and fish in household (Sure, I'll be very nice to them. Perhaps if I'm nice, they'd want to come out and play with me)...I'm always nice to other creatures (except Choo Choo and Ripley that is...never nice to them...grr annoying kitties...and I don't go out anyway don't want to!)

5. I won't be as finicky about my food (Just as long as it's the right texture, taste and temperature, and given at the right time each day)...I'm never fussy about my food...I'll eat everything I was given and find around the house..even humit food at times...the purrfect kitty here!

6. I'll lay off the furniture and stick to my scratching post (After all, that's what the scratching post is for. Besides, I've made enough marks to show who really owns this place)...yeah right...I rule this place therefore I can do whatever I like (if you don't believe me ask the humits around here...they say too that I rule this place!)

7. I'll stop hiding stuff behind the couch (It's getting a little cluttered behind there anyways. Someone in the house is really trying to find that diamond ring – they're making too much of a racket)....I never hide anything behind the sofa...I may occasionally drop things...like biscuits so I can have something later to eat but never anything on purpose...the remote control always falls behind the sofa anyway without my assistance!

8. I'll let everyone else sleep later (I suppose 5 a.m. is a little too early to get everyone up to feed me. I think I can hold on until 5:30 a.m)...I'm good as long as food is around they can sleep as long as they like...it doesn't bother me really but if they do forget to leave food for me then....well it's not really my fault now is it?

9. I'll stay off the counters, at least when company is around. (I only get chased off anyways. Sooner or later everyone leaves, so I can patrol the countertops if I'm just a little patient)...I never jump on the counters anyway...what's counters? Are the places in the kitchen I can't reach? Oh I can't get to them...they are far too high for my little legs...besides there's never food left there anyway...

10. I'll be more tolerant of those homemade bandannas (They feel a little funny, and I dislike having something put on me, but the colors really do match my hair coat, and they set off my eyes nicely)...ha, ha...that's funny! Yeah like humits will dare to put anything on me...ha, ha! They know I have claws and teeth...I don't wear anything than my fur...besides humits forever they try to remove stuff from me like my fur....grrr!

Ha, ha these resolutions were so silly...definitely not written by a kitty but by a silly humit who thinks he/she knows us kitties well....so funny!

Happy New Year to all then..even to silly humits!

Summer thoughts

Not the coolest spot in the house....

I do like summer...don't get me wrong summer is a great season...nice weather, lots of birdies outside and even the humits tend to be nice and more...understanding when it comes to food and snacks...when they are in a good mood they will forget all about diet and excess weight and they will give you little treats when you play it cute and innocent...oh those humits they are so easy to work with sometimes...you just love them.
Anyway back to summer...as I said I do like it as a season, it is nice...long days, nice weather, etc but then you do get those extreme days which humits call heat wavez or something...when it does get too hot for a kitty like me who has a lot of fur and...a lot of fur...it's all fur not excess weight...I'm not falling to that old trap...
Then when it is too hot it becomes really difficult to try and find cold spots in the house...especially since humits are obsess with carpetz which are not only too hot to snooze in the summer (OK in the winter I guess when it is cold...maybe...) but also tend to pick a lot of kitty fur and humit hair too (I keep telling them that there is a lot of their hair there too but they think they know better and they believe differently). Then you have the humits complaining constantly (which at times becomes really boring and monotonous hearing them moaning about the dirty carpet and that they can never clean that CARPET properly because there is too much fur there...which half of it belongs to humits too...anyway, etc, etc...you fellow kitties probably know pretty well what I mean...). So if there was less carpet in the house...then there would have being more cool spots for me to snooze and rest in the summer and humits wouldn't have to do a lot of work and put that much effort in cleaning it...but oh no, humits think they know better and they cover the whole house in carpet... (which is not good enough for proper scratching either....).
Oh well, one day humits perhaps they will listen...till then I'm off to my cool spot in the kitchen for a little afternoon snooze...purrs and meows for now!

After such a long time....

Searching for possible leftovers...

Well it has being a while since my last blog entry...didn't realise it...but you see I'm a really busy kitty with so many responsibilities...one of which is that I have to keep 2 humits in control as some times they can be really a pawfull...really such a hard work those humits...you always have to show them the right way to do things...I don't know how would they survive if I'm not around to keep them in control. I mean they can't go away on such a thing which they call 'holiday' because I won't be there to help them 24 hours a day...they wouldn't be able to cope on their own for a full week...they need to have me and the other two around 24 hours a day to feed, clean our litter trays, give me and the other too...their full attention 24 hours a day, to play with me when I'm bored, etc...otherwise their life will be meaningless...so you see humits do need us, kitties, to be around to help them cope with life and other unimportant things which don't include us...

But although I haven't being blogging all this time a lot of things have happened in the meantime...some quite interesting and other less important and worth wasting my precious time on recalling them...One of the most interesting things that took place was that ginger pest had tooth problems and was drooling like mad..(so funny...) and therefore humits had to take him to the vet (ha, ha...although I did worry for a while when I saw that dreaded basket coming out from the spare room... you never know who is in trouble till the humits turn their attention to you and start being really really nice...) where they removed his tooth (he, he...). If it was anybody else I might have felt a bit sorry for his condition...but not for that annoying loud and smelly pest...it was funny though...now we can call him toothless...although he doesn't seem to be suffering now..which is a petty...if anything he appears healthier and more annoying than before...grr...maybe humits can take him again to that vet humit and have some more teeth removed...whether they need removing or not...

Also Dora outside has being very naughty as she managed to catch a lot of fledglings (few blackbirds and the little robins that came out from the nest that was in our garden)...humits for a couple of days weren't very happy with her but they soon forgot all about the loss of those little innocent birdies and started justifying her behaviour on the grounds that she is a cat after all and that wasn't really her fault but the humits that let her outside all the time....

Oh well...humits...so unreliable...they can change their minds so easily...

What else happened...oh yeah...but I'm not going to mention it on today's blog entry...you'll have to wait till next time...meows and purrs for now!

New Year's Thoughts

Time to get some well deserved attention from sleeping humat!!

As we are now well into New Year and new decade for that matter and things are going back to normal very slowly that is (humats, being humats they haven't removed Catmas decorations and tree yet...they keep say that it is not time yet....well I don't know what they mean as the poor tree is dying indoors and needs to be outside and to also stop all these pine needles falling on the carpet and then ending up on my own fur and then humats will moan again that my fur is all messy and needs brushing...grrr...getting annoyed now...it's all the humats fault anyway for bringing the damn thing indoors in the first place...trees should be stay outside in their natural environment!!!)

Anyway since it is a new year and a new beginning (according to silly in my opinion humat tradition) it's about time to make some new decisions and to decide how to improve this new year.

Of course having to put on that horrible anti-flea stuff on me it's not a great start to the year...I mean how I've ended up with those little critters...I don't go outside to be exposed to other creatures. I think it is the humats' fault in the first place, they brought them home on purpose...part of their cunning plan to groom me once again...I can see very clearly now what they are trying to do and is not working...I will go into hide and will only come out when they are asleep...Oh hmm! This might not actually work as I will need to come out more often for food and stuff...Damn my cunning plan is not going to work...Perhaps if they use all the stuff on the other two they won't have enough left for me...If I also play it very cute...maybe they will feel sorry for me and they won't put that stuff on me...What a start for the new year...apparently the last time that we needed that flea stuff was back in March...It is scary how the humat can find out that we have fleas when we don't really scratch that much to cause suspicion...I think humat might know us a bit too well...maybe she is not humat after all...I always thought that she was part cat too!

Anyway back to my resolutions (as humats called it) for this new year...well I don't really think that I have any bad habits anyway but nevertheless I will try to eat a bit less to please humat (of course that applies to only when she is watching...when she is preoccupied....well that is a different matter...if I'm hungry and there is food...there is nothing I can do....I'm a cat after all!). What else I should do for the new year...Oh yes I will demand more attention...I've already started being more demanding...I tend to jump on the bed early in the morning and making certain that both humats are awake (if not I will scratch exposed skin or put tail on face to tickle) so they give me enough attention before they get up...After all humat said that I had being a very good kitty all previous year and therefore I think I fully deserve a bit more attention this year! Meooow!
